Clay Sigg
In Loving Memory of Clay Sig: Owner/Broker of Diez and Sigg Properties, Clay Sigg had over four decades of real estate hands-on experience as a practitioner, managing broker, and owner/broker.
Sigg was a past president of the Sacramento Association of REALTORS (SAR); Sacramento’s ‘REALTOR of the Year’; and a recipient of the SAR ‘Lifetime Service Award.’ He served on the Board of Directors of Metrolist Services, Inc., the regional multiple listing service provider and was a life member and past president of the SAR Masters Club.
Sigg was a California Association of REALTORS (CAR) State Director for over three decades and had been awarded the prestigious CAR ‘Director for Life’ designation. He served on the CAR Executive Committee and chaired significant committees including Professional Standards, Transaction & Regulatory, Federal Issues, Legal Affairs Forum, and Legal Action Fund Trustees. He was Vice Chair of the CAR Strategic Planning & Finance Committee and Chair of CAR Region 3.
Sigg was active as a National Association of REALTORS (NAR) Director and was the CAR Federal District 4 Political Coordinator for congressional members John Doolittle and Tom McClintock since 1998. He was a member of the RPAC Hall of Fame and held the NAR designations ‘Golden R’ and ‘REALTOR Emeritus.’
An appointed CAR InterBoard Arbitrator, Sigg chaired dozens of formal disciplinary and arbitration tribunals and was an expert witness and consultant in real estate standard of practice litigation. He earned three national industry designations- CRB® (Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager), CRS® (Certified Residential Specialist), and ePRO.
Sigg was a graduate of the University of California at Davis and was an inductee of the UC Davis Baseball Hall of Fame. He was active in charitable efforts to support groups such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Sacramento Children’s Home, Sacramento Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Sacramento Christmas CanTree.
Sigg was a proud husband to his wife Sandra, – the division manager of CalAtlantic Title Company – and his three children: Nicole, Julia, and Anthony.
